Alexandria City High School for the 2023-2024 school year is going to have a 8 period class schedule that is a Hybrid of a traditional alternating day block scheduling and the 4 x 4 block schedule. Nearly every student’s schedule will be different and will make calculating eligibility more difficult than years past. The Magic Number is still 5.
Alexandria City High School opened in 1965 as T.C. Williams High School as a desegregated high school amalgamated from Francis C. Hammond High School, George Washington High School, and Parker-Gray High School. In 2007, a new state-of-the-art, environmentally green school opened its doors at the present site. In 2021, the school was renamed to Alexandria City High School.
