Anna Hall was the daughter of Valentine Gill Hall and Mary Livingston (Ludlow) Hall. Miss Hall married Elliott Roosevelt (1860-1894), brother of President Theodore Roosevelt. The couple had three children: Elliott Roosevelt (1889-1893), G. Hall Roosevelt (1891-1841), and Eleanor Roosevelt (Mrs. Franklin Delano Roosevelt). Mrs. Roosevelt contracted diphtheria, and succumbed to it in 1892.
