Mike Colman. Anon were a band made up of pupils from Charterhouse School in Surrey. Members of the group would eventually merge with another Charterhouse group, called Garden Wall, to form the progressive rock band Genesis. The band formed in May 1965 and split up in December 1966.

Was it a case of just wanting to remain anonymous or were you after something difficult to pigeonhole?
