Another Passenger is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Carly Simon, released by Elektra Records, on June 5, 1976. For this album, Simon enlisted a new producer, Ted Templeman, as well as his clients, The Doobie Brothers and Little Feat, to provide musical and vocal backing.
The Doobie Brothers wurden 1969 von Tom Johnston, John Hartman, Skip Spence (ex- Moby Grape) und Gregg Murph in Süd-Kalifornien unter dem Bandnamen Pud gegründet. Gregg Murph verließ bald die Band, als Ersatz kam Dave Shogren. 1970 kam noch Patrick Simmons dazu. Doobie ist eine Slangbezeichnung für einen Zwei-Blatt-Joint.

It was also covered by Carly Simon the same year and released as the lead single from her sixth studio album Another Passenger. The Doobie Brothers version was featured in the 1994 Oscar -winning film Forrest Gump , and was included on the film's multi-platinum selling soundtrack album .
