Tony Accardo was an underboss of the Chicago mob and a hitman for Al Capone. He was implicated in the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre and other murders, but denied having any role in the Chicago mob. He died in 1992 from heart and lung disease.
A member of the Society of Illustrators since 1981 Accardo has won numerous national and regional awards. He has worked on several major advertising campaigns and has illustrated more than 90 books worldwide. And is perhaps best known for his illustrations for the Nancy Drew Notebooks series.
