26. Aug. 2020 · Arnold Spielberg, who co-designed the GE-225 mainframe computer that helped create BASIC, passed away at 103. He was also a supportive father to his son, filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who credited him for his interest in engineering and movies.
Arnold Spielberg was an American electrical engineer instrumental in contributions "to real-time data acquisition and recording that significantly contributed to the definition of modern feedback and control processes". For General Electric he designed, with his colleague Charles Propster, the GE-225 in 1959.
