25. März 2016 · The song’s B-side, I’d Rather Go Blind co-written by Etta, is an anguished, deep soul ballad, and contains one of Etta’s most heartfelt vocals and its influence is omnipresent. Chicken Shack took their reading into the Top 20 in 1969, Rod Stewart did it in ’72, Janis Joplin, who modelled her whole career on Etta’s, regularly performed it live.
