Prince August Aleksander Czartoryski (9 November 1697, Warsaw – 4 April 1782, Warsaw) was a member of the Polish nobility ( Polish: szlachcic ), magnate . Life. August became major-general of the Polish Army in 1729, voivode of the Ruthenian Voivodeship in 1731, general starost of Podolia in 1750–1758, and a Knight of Malta.
August Aleksander wyrósł na człowieka inteligentnego i rozsądnego; prowadził bardzo regularny tryb życia, w którym każda czynność miała ustaloną porę. O jego praktycznym podejściu do rozwiązywania problemów świadczy m.in. projekt przeciwdziałania epidemii w stolicy, który nakreślił w 1739 r.

The Czartoryski had risen to power under August Aleksander Czartoryski (1697–1782) of the Klewa line, who married Zofia Denhoffowa, the only heir to the Sieniawski family. The family attained the height of its influence from the mid-18th century in the court of King Augustus III (r. 1734–1763).
