Arthur Prysock Jr. (January 1, 1924 or 1929 – June 21, 1997) was an American jazz and R&B singer best known for his live shows and his deep baritone, influenced by Billy Eckstine. According to his obituary in The New York Times , "his heavy, deep voice projected a calm, reassuring virility."

26. März 2017 · Arthur Prysock was an important multi-genre vocalist born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 1924. During the Second World War, Prysock moved from his home to Hartford, Connecticut, in order to work in the aircraft manufacturing industry. It was during this time that he realized his impressive singing talent.
Johnson’s blues-based orchestra was one of the most popular black big bands in America, and Prysock remained with it from 1944 until 1952, scoring such hits as "They All Say I’m the Biggest Fool," "I Wonder Where Our Love Has Gone," "Jet, My Love," and "At Last."
