Barbara Radziwiłłówna (ur. 6 grudnia 1520–1523 w Wilnie, zm. 8 maja 1551 w Krakowie) – druga małżonka Zygmunta II Augusta, królowa polska, wielka księżna litewska. Trzecia polska królowa niedynastycznego pochodzenia, po Elżbiecie z Pilczy (która była jej prapraprababką) i Barbarze Zápolyi.

She consented to become his mistress and enjoyed four years of luxurious bliss. However, the bliss soon ended. Lady Barbara married the king in 1547 and it caused a great scandal!

The interpretation of Barbara Radziwill’s life has changed with every century. So has the visualization of her and her environment. This miniature of her was concocted in the nineteenth century. The dress is from a sixteenth-century portrait of another woman by the circle of Lucas Cranach the Younger.
The same year King Sigismund II Augustus of Poland married Barbara Radziwiłł and confirmed these titles in 1549. So high a title was rare among the szlachta (the Polish nobility): just five Polish families, including the Radziwiłłs, received the title of imperial prince from the Holy Roman emperor.
