Baria Qureshi. Website. thexx .info. The xx are an English indie rock band from Wandsworth, London, formed in 2005. [1] The band consists of Romy Madley Croft (guitar, vocals), Oliver Sim (bass guitar, vocals), Jamie Smith, also known as Jamie xx (beats, MPC, record production), and formerly Baria Qureshi (keyboard, guitar).

Ende Oktober 2009 fiel Baria Qureshi bei einem Auftritt in London wegen Erschöpfung aus; die folgenden Veranstaltungen auf dem Kontinent wurden abgesagt. Mitte November 2009 erklärte sie dann wegen „persönlicher Differenzen“ ihren Austritt aus der Band, die die Tournee daraufhin zu dritt fortsetzte.

The xx guitarist/keyboard player Baria Qureshi has left the band due to 'personal differences' and will not be replaced, according to band member Romy Madley Croft. The band will continue as a three-piece and will play live without her.

20. Juli 2010 · The xx, the London trio who won the 2010 Mercury Prize, have said they are happy for former member Baria Qureshi to join them at the awards ceremony in September. Qureshi quit the band last November, but the band say she is still part of their album and that they are shocked to be nominated for the award.
