Barsine war eine Tochter von Artabazos II., dem persischen Satrapen Phrygiens, [1] und damit Urenkelin des persischen Großkönigs Artaxerxes II. Ihre Mutter war wohl die einzig bekannte Gattin Artabazos’ II., eine Schwester der rhodischen Feldherren Memnon und Mentor, die Artabazos elf Söhne und zehn Töchter geboren haben soll. [2]
Barsine (Greek: Βαρσίνη; c. 363–309 BC) was the daughter of a Persian father, Artabazus, satrap of Hellespontine Phrygia, and a Greek Rhodian mother, the sister of mercenaries Mentor of Rhodes and Memnon of Rhodes. Barsine became the wife of her uncle Mentor, and after his death married her second uncle, Memnon.

Barsine. Barsine was a noble Greek-Persian, daughter of Artabazus, and wife of Memnon. After Memnon's death, several ancient historians have written of a love affair between her and Alexander.

Barsine was the daughter of a Persian satrap and the wife of two Greek mercenaries. She became the lover of Alexander the Great, who made her his wife and mother of his son Heracles, but later abandoned her.
