Bastille. Die Bastille [ baˈstiːjə] ( französisch kleine Bastion) war ursprünglich eine besonders befestigte Stadttorburg im Osten von Paris, die später als Staatsgefängnis genutzt wurde. Der Sturm auf die Bastille am 14. Juli 1789 wird als symbolischer Auftakt und Geburtsstunde der Französischen Revolution interpretiert.
Bandgeschichte. Bastille war ursprünglich ein Soloprojekt des Singer-Songwriters Dan Smith, das er 2010 mit drei Freunden zur Band ausbaute. Die Band ist nach dem 14. Juli benannt, da Leadsänger Dan Smith an diesem Tag Geburtstag hat. Der Tag wird in Frankreich als Nationalfeiertag zur Erinnerung an den Sturm auf die Bastille zelebriert.
Der Sturm auf die Bastille war der Beginn der Französischen Revolution. Am 14. Juli 1789 stürmten wütende Bürger die Bastille — das damalige Staatsgefängnis in Paris. Dort hielt der König seine politischen Gegner gefangen. Die Bastille galt deshalb als Symbol der unfairen Machtverhältnisse und Willkürherrschaft des Königs.

Bastille war wirklich wunderbar und hat eine tolle Show abgeliefert nur leider war die Orga nicht ganz so super. Trotz Aufpreis von 100€ für VIP Karten wusste vor Ort niemand etwas davon und wir wurden mit den anderen Eingängen zeitgleich hereingelassen - wo wir dann zum Rennen aufgefordert wurden wenn wir etwas sehen wollten.
