Ben E. King (født Benjamin Earl Nelson, 28. september 1938 i Henderson i Vance County i Nord-Carolina, død 30. april 2015) var en soulsanger fra USA. Han er kanskje best kjent som sanger og medkomponist av hiten «Stand by Me», og som en av hovedsangerne i vokalgruppa The Drifters .

King (born September 28, 1938, Henderson, North Carolina, U.S.—died April 30, 2015, Hackensack, New Jersey) American rhythm and blues singer who was the leader of the vocal group the Drifters in the late 1950s and early ’60s. He later earned acclaim as a solo artist with several hit singles, most notably “ Stand by Me ” (1961).
August 1986 in den US-Kinos gezeigten gleichnamigen Film, der auf einer Novelle von Stephen King ( Die Leiche) beruhte, veröffentlichte Atlantic die Single 1986 neu. Ben E. Kings Lied wurde zum Titelsong des Films. In Deutschland lief der Film Stand by Me – Das Geheimnis eines Sommers ab 26. Februar 1987.
