Berthe Morisot is one of the most famous French painter. She's also known for her love story with Edouard Manet which takes too much place in this film. Even if it affects her art, the whole film feels to superficial and inconsistent. I wish it would have shown more work and more how being a woman painter was incredible in the XIXth century.
The film derives it's core strength from the two inspired lead performances from Marine Delterme as Morisot and Malik Zidi playing Edouard Manet, Morisot's contemporary.
