Best Of Gabor Szabo In The CTI Years (2000) Gabor Szabo. Mizrab; Concerto #2; It’s Going To Take Some Time; Rambler; New Love; Hungarian Rhapsody #2; Ziggidy Zag; Macho; Transylvania Boogie; All Is Well; 1 to 3 originally on Mizrab 4, 5 and 10 originally on Rambler 6 to 9 originally on Macho. 1 to 10 issued on CD in 2000 as CTI EJS-4130
Apart from its dumb name and uninteresting artwork, Macho is one of the best CTI album released (Sept 75) and features some of best soft/Latin fusion music ever recorded. It is with this album that you’ll realize that Carlos and Gabor were indeed good buddies and certainly listened to each other’s works..

“Gabor Szabo’s singular style and authentic sound is on full display across a set of originals and choice covers highlighted by unusual instrumentation and ingenious arrangements. From the sitar-starring adaptation of “Paint It Black” to the Latin rhythms and bossa nova beats, Szabo’s savvy jazz guitar innovations shine throughout.” – from the Modern Harmonic hype sticker.
