Honestly, if you take off that weird subsection (which is about 15% of the book), The Godfather is better than the movie. It has more emotional punch and a more interesting backstory for a lot of characters that wasn't showed in the movie, The actors were pretty great, but the big plot points were more impactful in the book. At least for me.
