  3. Nuthall was introduced to tennis in suburban London. She won the Wimbledon Junior Championships in 1924, 1925, and 1926, and at age 15 played in the 1926 Wimbledon Ladies Singles Championship. She advanced to the second round before losing to Phoebe Holcroft Watson, 6-3, 6-0. She won the British Hardcourt Championships in 1927.
