Major "Big Maceo" Merriweather (March 31, 1905 – February 23, 1953) was an American pianist and blues singer. He was mainly active in Chicago through the 1940s.

Big Maceo Merriweather was one of the most prominent blues recording artists of the 1940s, famed not only for his powerful piano work but for his expressive singing on hits such as Worried Life Blues.
Despite a relatively brief blues career, and authoring and recording one of the all-time blues classics in “Worried Life Blues”, Major “Big Maceo” Merriweather allotted a legacy that inspired the next generation of Chicago blues piano artists.
