Major "Big Maceo" Merriweather (March 31, 1905 – February 23, 1953) [1] was an American pianist and blues singer. He was mainly active in Chicago through the 1940s. [2] Career. Big Maceo Merriweather war 1941 nach Chicago gekommen und hatte bei Bluebird Records seinen ersten Plattenvertrag unterzeichnet. Am 24. Juni 1941 nahm er als erste Single den Worried Life Blues auf.
