Sept. 2020 · The Tubes had pioneered the use of video in rock, but MTV audiences discovered them via Bill Spooner crooning Don’t Want To Wait Anymore in a shirt and tie. “Any song I sing is the greatest ever,” he jokes. “But yeah, that was the big 80s hair ballad thing, with lots of reverb on the snare drum.”
