Bill Yates war weniger organisiert, ein Pianist von einiger Bedeutung und ein wirklich guter Sänger. Er spielte als Teil der Adams-Band und auf eigene Rechnung. Er fühlte sich mit fast jedem Musikstil wohl und mag bei Sun als die neue weiße Hoffnung nach dem Verlust von Jerry Lee Lewis und Charlie Rich gesehen worden sein.
Floyd Buford Yates (July 5, 1921 – March 26, 2001), better known as Bill Yates, was an American cartoonist who drew gag cartoons and comic strips before assuming the position of comic strip editor for King Features Syndicate in 1978.

Bill Yates was a Memphis-based piano player and soulful singer who recorded for Sun Records in the early '60s.
