  5. 27. Apr. 2024 · Billy Fury, one of Britain’s top pop stars of the early 1960s, was born on 17 April 1940 in the Dingle area of Liverpool and died of heart failure in London on 28 January 1983, aged just 42. The statue, by sculptor Tom Murphy, was funded by his fans and unveiled in 2003.

Apr. 2024 · Funded primarily from fans, a bronze statue of Billy Fury was unveiled in 2003 and is now located on the waterfront in front of the Piermaster’s House, behind the Tate Liverpool, and across from the Liverpool Museum. There are several other sculptures on display at the same place.
