Ronald Wycherley (17 April 1940 – 28 January 1983), better known by his stage name Billy Fury, was an English musician. An early star of rock and roll, he equalled the Beatles' record of 24 hits in the 1960s and spent 332 weeks on the UK chart.

Billy Fury was born Ronald Wycherley on April 17th 1940 in the Dingle area of Liverpool to Albert and Sarah Jane (Jean) Wycherley. A bout of rheumatic fever at the age of six and another at sixteen led to periods in hospital resulting in a permanently damaged heart which was to trouble him throughout his life.
