Parker left the McShann band immediately after the 1942 New York recording session documented on Blues From Kansas City.
Originally released in 1950. Recorded June 6, 1950 in New York City. Tracks 1 to 6 appear here in original 10"-LP sequence. Tracks 7 to 13 are complete takes. Tracks 14, 15, 17 to 24 are breakdown takes. Track 16 is a false start. The tracks "Passport" and "Visa" included on the "Bird And Diz" 10"-LP, have been omitted from this issue.
