März 2014 · In 1990 Marianne Faithfull was filmed in concert at St. Anne’s Cathedral in Brooklyn along with a crack band consisting of The Band’s Garth Hudson, Dr. John, her longtime collaborator Barry Reynolds , Marc Ribot, Fernando Saunders (Lou Reed’s longtime bass player), drummer Dougie Bowne (John Cale, Iggy Pop, Arto Lindsay and the Lounge Lizards) and Lew Soloff on trumpet and flugel horn.

Garth Hudson bleef echter door alles heen de onverstoorbare muzikant waarop de groep kon bouwen. In 2001 kwam zijn eerste solo-album The Sea To The North uit, in 2005 gevolgd door Live at the Wolf. Beide albums maakte hij met zijn vrouw Maud Hudson. Samen richtten zij in 2005 de 12-mansformatie "The Best!" op.
18. Sept. 2021 · Hudson and his wife, Maud, were slated to perform at The Upstage, a then venerated and now sorely missed local performance venue. The three day visit left the townsfolk with a range of impressions. Some basked in his genius and marveled how his mind worked. Others admired what he once was, but weren’t happy about being kept waiting.
