Apr. 2010 · “The Right Time” – Bobby Darin – Darlene duets with Bobby on this under-appreciated cut from a lost Darin LP called Bobby Darin Sings Ray Charles. “Brown-Eyed Woman” – Bill Medley – The deep-voiced half of the Righteous Brothers testifies his love for Darlene, while she and her sisters turn up the heat.
2. März 2017 · 55 years ago this month, Bobby Darin released his full-length tribute to Ray Charles, one which featured his take on 11 tracks originally recorded by Brother Ray. Darin, a well-known interpreter of other artists’ material, was a fan of Charles’s work from the moment he heard it, or certainly as soon as he was aware of it.
