"Boris the Spider" is a song written by the Who's bass guitarist, John Entwistle. It appears as the second track of their 1966 album A Quick One. This song is claimed to be Entwistle's first composition, and became a staple of live shows.

Seine bekanntesten Kompositionen dürften Boris the Spider und My Wife sein. Er spielte auch Bass auf Edge of the World von Glenn Tipton, dem Gitarristen von Judas Priest. Entwistle hat für die deutsche Instrumentenbaufirma Warwick einen eigenen E-Bass entworfen, den Buzzard.
Entwistle delivered "Boris The Spider," a song about a creepy, crawly spider that drops from the ceiling and meets a sticky end when he gets smashed with a book. Entwistle was afraid of spiders as a kid. He wrote this about seeing a spider crawling from the ceiling and squishing it. Entwistle wrote this as a joke, but it became a concert favorite.
