The College has two main campuses in Colchester and Braintree. Programmes include full and part time further education courses, degrees and Apprenticeships as well as short courses for industry.
On 1 January 2010, Colchester Institute took over Braintree College rebranding this as The College At Braintree [2] and subsequently Braintree Campus. The £10m STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Centre and South Wing building opened in 2016 at the Sheepen Road Campus.

19. Aug. 2009 · Braintree College will focus on vocational courses for 16-year-olds and over from September, when it will be known as Braintree College. The college aims to raise young people's aspirations and create more learning opportunities for mature students in the local community. It will work with the new Braintree Sixth Form Centre and adult community learning centres.
15. Juli 2016 · Colchester Institute can trace its roots back to 1885, and in 2010, it took over Braintree College, which now operates under the name The College at Braintree.
