Brendan Benson is a Michigan-born songwriter who resides on the rock end of the power pop scale. He debuted in 1996 with One Mississippiat the age of 25. Jason Falkner of Jellyfish and The Grays co-wrote and produced the first version of the record which was rejected by the label so Brendan went back into the studio with Ethan Johns.
