C. W. McCall (* 15. November 1928 in Audubon, Iowa; eigentlich William Dale Fries, Jr.; † 1. April 2022 in Ouray, Colorado) war ein US-amerikanischer Countrysänger. Am bekanntesten war er für seinen Nummer-eins-Hit Convoy von 1975, der Grundlage für den gleichnamigen Film von 1978 war.
William Dale Fries Jr. (November 15, 1928 – April 1, 2022) was an American commercial artist who won several Clio Awards for his advertising campaigns. He was also a musician and is best known for his character C. W. McCall, a truck-driving country singer that he originally created for a series of bread commercials.
C. W. McCall & Co. is country musician C. W. McCall's sixth and last album of original songs, released on Polydor Records in 1979 (see 1979 in music), before McCall (or, more accurately, Bill Fries, the man playing his role) announced his retirement from the music industry.
