29. Jan. 2007 · A hybrid mix of disco, quality songwriting, and fuzzed out minimalist New York no-wave which somehow manages to be warm, approachable and yet totally far out and highly individual. I've not heard a bad Russell disk yet, but this one is the best.

Jennifer Jean Warnes (born March 3, 1947) is an American singer and songwriter. She has performed as a vocalist on a number of film soundtracks. She has won two Grammy Awards, in 1983 for the Joe Cocker duet "Up Where We Belong" and in 1987 for the Bill Medley duet "(I've Had) The Time of My Life".
The American singer, songwriter, producer and arranger has forged a five decade career that has seen her relentlessly pursuing her art and passion, moving from pop and rock to jazz, folk, traditional, opera and spiritual with ease and grace.
13. Mai 2022 · Calling Out Of Context features 12 previously unreleased tracks of Buddhist Bubblegum Disco Electro Pop including the anthemic “That’s Us/Wild Combination”, “The Platform On The Ocean”, “Make 1, 2” and “Arm Around You”, all recorded during Arthur’s prime years 1985-90.
Jennifer Warnes, who had been working with him since 1972, had become far more popular, and in 1986 she spread his gospel with Famous Blue Raincoat, an album of Cohen covers that led to his upturn.
