Carl Iwan Clowes OBE (11 December 1943 – 4 December 2021) was a Welsh medical practitioner. In 1978 he founded the Nant Gwrtheyrn Trust in order to buy the village of Nant Gwrtheyrn, to restore and regenerate it and to set up a Welsh language centre.

5. Dez. 2021 · It has been announced that Dr Carl Clowes, founder of the Nant Gwrtheyrn Trust, has died following a short illness. The trust was founded in 1978 while Dr Clowes was physician in Bro’r Eifl and he was initially appointed Chairman of the centre, later becoming President.
