Ferdinando Carlo von Gonzaga-Nevers war der letzte Herzog von Mantua und Montferrat sowie Fürst von Arches aus dem Hause Gonzaga. Verschiedentlich wird er als Carlo IV. bezeichnet.
Biography. Ninth Duke of Mantua; succeeded his grandfather Carlo I Gonzaga in 1637; his father never reigned but is still sometimes called Carlo II, hence the name of Carlo III. Married Isabella Clara Archduchess of Austria (q.v.) (1649).

The Gonzaga-Nevers later came to rule Mantua again when Louis's son Charles (Carlo) inherited Mantua and Montferrat, triggering the War of the Mantuan Succession. Another cadet branch were first sovereign counts, later dukes of Guastalla. They descended from Ferrante, a younger son of Duke Francesco II of Mantua (1484–1519).
