  2. Geboren wurde Napoleon Bonaparte am 15. August 1769 auf der Insel Korsika. Korsika liegt im Mittelmeer. Eigentlich erhielt der Junge einen italienischen Namen: Napoleone Buonaparte. Korsika gehörte nämlich bis ein Jahr vor seiner Geburt zu Genua und war erst 1768 an Frankreich verkauft worden. Viele Korsen kämpften nach dem Verkauf um ihre Unabhängigkeit.
