2. Aug. 2023 · Cazenovia College, founded as a seminary in 1824, closed its doors in June 2023 after facing financial challenges and defaulting on its municipal bond debt. The 200-year-old institution in rural upstate New York is selling its campus and equine facility to pay off its creditors, while its endowment and yearbooks are being distributed to other schools.
