The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is an organization established and owned by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan with an investment of 99 percent of the couple's wealth from their Facebook shares over their lifetime. The CZI is set up as a limited liability company and is an example of philanthrocapitalism.

10. Feb. 2022 · The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) pledged $44 million for solutions to climate change, mostly for capturing CO2 from the air and oceans. CZI also supports projects that use CO2 for products and markets, but faces criticism for its own role in the crisis.
3. Jan. 2018 · The president of the philanthropic effort, Cori Bargmann, shares how it aims to support biomedical research and solve disease by 2100. She draws on her experience with the worm model organism C. elegans and its culture of shared resources, creativity and openness.
