Charles Carroll Obituary. Charles Edward Carroll, age 57 of Iron Station, NC, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, December 30th, 2021. A native of Yancey County, he was the son of the late Latt and Ethel Carroll. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jackie Hilton Carroll.
28. März 2024 · Charles Lutwidge Dodgson—better known by his pen name, Lewis Carroll—was born on January 27, 1832, in Daresbury, Cheshire, England. He was the eldest son and third child of the Rev. Charles Dodgson and Frances Jane Lutwidge. He and his 10 siblings grew up in isolated villages in the English countryside.
He was elected to the Maryland Senate in 1781, and to the first Federal Congress in 1788. He returned again to the State Senate in 1790 and served there for 10 years.
