18. Apr. 2024 · Chlotar II (born May or June 584—died Oct. 18, 629) was the Merovingian king of Neustria and sole ruler of the Franks from 613. An infant when his father, Chilperic I, was assassinated in 584, he was assured the succession by the power of his mother, Fredegund, and by the protection of his uncle, Guntram, king of Burgundy.

Jahrhundert zur Grabstätte der merowingischen Könige. Dort wurde ebenfalls der Bischof Germanus von Paris beigesetzt, der im 8. Jahrhundert heiliggesprochen wurde.
