Die drei Schwestern Christine (1926–2018), Dorothy (1928–2012) und Phyllis McGuire (1931–2020) aus Middletown (Ohio) begannen schon früh im Kirchenchor miteinander zu singen. 1949 wurden sie dann vom Militär angeheuert und tourten durch verschiedene Krankenhäuser und Kasernen.
