Closed Season [Ende der Schonzeit] is a German movie from 2012 directed by Franziska Schlotterer. The movie takes place in the German countryside during the Second World War and tells the story of a forbidden love between a German farmer and a Jewish girl.
A distant farm in the Black Forest in 1942, Emma (Brigitte Hobmeier) and Fritz (Hans-Jochen Wagner) have been married for ten years. The taciturn but well-rehearsed marriage is overshadowed by the as-yet unfulfilled wish for a progenitor for the farm, which is already causing gossip within the village community.
"Ende der Schonzeit," set in 1942, tells the story of Fritz and Emma, who are hiding Jewish refugee Albert at their remote farm in the Black Forest. Since his marriage with Emma has remained childless, Fritz uses this opportunity to suggest an unorthodox deal: He asks Albert to sleep with his wife and conceive a child on his behalf.
