Gordon Lee "Tex" Beneke (/ ˈ b ɛ n ə k i / BEN-ə-kee; February 12, 1914 – May 30, 2000) was an American saxophonist, singer, and bandleader. His career is a history of associations with bandleader Glenn Miller and former musicians and singers who worked with Miller.

Haynes took possession of 48 original Miller arrangements that had formed the basis of the Beneke library and announced that he was taking legal action to prevent Beneke from using the Miller name any more (the Band was still using the “Miller Mood” billing right up to the split).
