Nach über 20 Alben, an die 80 Singles und neun Nominierungen erhielt Austin für ihre Album "Avant Gershwin" (Rendezvous, 2007) ihren ersten Grammy. Die CD tauchte aber chartsmässig nur gerade bei den US-Jazzalben auf und belegte dort als höchste Notierung Platz 5. Bis dato veröffentlichte sie über zwei Dutzend Alben. Von Patti Austin erschienen zudem mehrere Compilations.
