Cornel Wilde (born Kornél Lajos Weisz; October 13, 1912 – October 16, 1989) was a Hungarian-American actor and filmmaker. Wilde's acting career began in 1935, when he made his debut on Broadway. In 1936 he began making small, uncredited appearances in films.

Cornel Wilde (born Oct. 13, 1915, New York, N.Y., U.S.—died Oct. 16, 1989, Los Angeles, Calif.) was an American actor and filmmaker who attained stardom with his sensitive portrayal of composer Frédéric Chopin in the motion picture A Song to Remember (1945), for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
Cornel Wilde was a Hungarian-American actor and film director who starred in films such as A Song to Remember, The Naked Prey, and The Greatest Show on Earth. He also wrote and produced several movies, and appeared in TV shows and stage plays.
