The town is on the Castletown River, which flows into Dundalk Bay on the east coast of Ireland. It is halfway between Dublin and Belfast, close to the border with Northern Ireland.

1994–present. Patrick McDonnell is an Irish actor and comedian. He has starred in the RTÉ hidden camera comedy show Naked Camera [1] and the sketch show Stew. However he is probably best remembered at home and abroad for his role as Eoin McLove in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted . Patrick McDonnell is a native of Dromiskin, County Louth.
