Michael John "Cub" Koda (né Uszniewicz; October 1, 1948 – July 1, 2000) [1] [2] was an American rock and roll musician, songwriter, and critic. Rolling Stone magazine considered him best known for writing the song "Smokin' in the Boys Room", recorded by his band Brownsville Station, which reached number 3 on the 1974 Billboard chart. [3]

9. Okt. 2013 · I wrote to Cub twice over the years. I always got a response. He seemed like a very cool guy. His widow and I have exchanged emails on occasion and she seems very nice as well. The one record I need to complete my Cub Koda collection is "Cub Digs Chuck" on Garageland records. Still looking...

Cub returned to the recording studio in 1989 for his “Cub Digs Chuck” album on Garageland Records, a tribute to Chuck Berry, one of his musical heroes. Although several of his earlier albums were released on CD in 1990, his first official CD release was his Bo Diddley tribute album, “Cub Digs Bo”, also issued on Garageland.
