The Five Stairsteps, known as "The First Family of Soul" and later "The Invisible Man's Band", were an American Chicago soul group made up of five of Betty and Clarence Burke Sr.'s six children: Alohe Jean, Clarence Jr., James, Dennis, and Kenneth "Keni", and briefly, Cubie.

24. Mai 2014 · CUBIE BURKE – youngest member of 60s/70s soul group THE STAIRSTEPS – died on Wednesday 14th May. He was 49 and it’s believed that his death was as a result of a brain injury he’d suffered some years ago.
Die Familie Burke (Aloha, Clarence, James, Dennis, Kenneth Michael und später noch Cubie) begann bereits Anfang der 1960er Jahre, zunächst als Quintett, zu singen und war damit Vorläufer einer ganzen Reihe von amerikanischen Familienbands, wie zum Beispiel The Osmonds oder The Jackson Five.
