She is a pioneer of social robotics and human-robot interaction, and the co-founder of the consumer social robotics company, Jibo, Inc.
Cynthia Breazeal is a roboticist and the director of the Personal Robots Group at MIT's Media Lab. She develops and investigates the principles and technologies for building personal robots that interact and communicate with people in human-centric terms, work with humans as peers, and learn from people as apprentices. She has created some of the world's most famous robotic creatures, such as the social robot Kismet and the expressive robot Leonardo, and her research aims to improve people's quality of life in various domains.
