Damageplan was an American heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 2003. Following the demise of their previous group Pantera, brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul Abbott wanted to start a new band. The pair recruited former Halford guitarist Patrick Lachman on vocals, and later Bob Zilla on bass.

17. Aug. 2023 · Without seeking a record deal, Damageplan set up at the guitarist’s home studio in Dallas and started recording with Sterling Winfield, who had co-produced Reinventing The Steel. Once Damageplan cranked the amps and started recording their new riffs, Dime’s mood dramatically improved.
Damageplan. Formed by Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul after Pantera ended, originally under the name of New Found Power. Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott was shot to death while Damageplan was performing in a nightclub in Columbus, Ohio on December 8th, 2004. The band eventually broke up in the aftermath of the shooting.
