Van Patten, Jr. Daniel died, July 2, 2013 in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize. Daniel was the drummer in the rock band Berlin in the late 1970's and early. 1980's for five years. Daniel produced and engineered their biggest album. Pleasure Victim which sold over a million copies.

Sept. 2021 · Originally forming in 1976 as The Toys out of Orange County, California, are founding members of the band Berlin, John Crawford (bass guitar), Dan Van Patten (drums), Chris Ruiz-Velasco (guitar), and Ty Cobb (vocals). After a few shows, they released vocalist Ty Cobb from the roster and changed the band’s name to Berlin.
From big hair and neon to dark eyeliner and cult classics, the 1980s is one of the most iconic, defining decades of music history. On the precipice of it all, in 1978, drummer Dan Van Patten, guitarist Carlos Ruiz, and vocalist Tyson A. Cobb formed the new wave band, Berlin.
